Barcade is seeking Barback/Food Runners to join our team at our forthcoming location in Newark, NJ.

The Barback/Food Runner assists the bartender in restocking and maintaining the cleanliness of the bar and kitchen space throughout the shift and delivering food orders to guests. He/She also represents the Barcade brand and as such is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable of the brand and it’s unique offerings.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Restock ice, glassware, juices, purees, and paper goods as necessary.
• Retrieve and wash glassware, dishes, and utensils.
• Deliver food orders to customers.
• Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age.
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations.


Qualifications:
• Experience in a fast paced bar setting.
• Working knowledge of craft beer.
• Interest in vintage arcade games.
• A passion for hospitality and customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

The bartender represents the Barcade brand and as such is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable of the brand and it’s unique offerings. Bartenders are responsible for serving guests in a timely and courteous fashion.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons.
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve food and drink.
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails.
• Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age.
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the night and be able to account for any and all discrepancies in the final drawer tally.
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
• Standard set up and break down of bar and surrounding areas.


Qualifications:
• 2 years of experience in a fast paced and high standard bar setting.
• Working knowledge of craft beer, craft spirits and food.
• Interest in vintage arcade games.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Social Media Manager creates and manages content for the Barcade brand, portraying the company in a cohesive way while building and maintaining relationships with our audience and customers.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Responsible for posting and scheduling content across multiple social media platforms, coordinating with location General Managers and various departments companywide to ensure effectiveness
• Creates or coordinates text, photo, and video content for social media sites and marketing materials
• Create and maintain social media editorial calendar for content distribution and posting schedule
• Build brand’s social media footprint by targeting and growing relevant audiences
• Design and implement platform specific social media strategies and practices that align with business goals, and encourages adoption of these into the company culture
• Increase engagement with social media followers, communicates and responds to queries in a timely manner
• Monitors customer reviews and comments and escalates customer issues
• Develop strategic social media campaigns to develop brand awareness like promotions and competitions
• Monitor brand mentions and relevant hash tags across multiple platforms
• Monitor competing brands to stay aware of market changes and customer preferences
• Sets specific social media objectives and reports on ROI
• Monitor trends in online community tools and applications
• Speak in the “brand voice” and personality


Qualifications:
• Proven experience in marketing and social media
• Hands on experience generating effective marketing content
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and the behaviors of their respective participants including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram
• Expertise in analytics platforms such as Tweetdeck and HootSuite or similar
• Strong organizational, planning, and project management competencies
• Able to multitask and balance priorities, with a strong sense of accountability
• Good knowledge of principles of SEO and PR
• Excellent copywriting and communications skills
• Strong customer service skills and understands the importance of social media as a customer service tool
• High level of visual intelligence
• Some graphic design, photography and photo editing skills a plus
• Working in marketing or social media in-house for a brand is a plus
• Some experience with restaurant and nightlife and/or food, beverage, or lifestyle brands
• Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Communications, Marketing, or other relevant field

Barcade is seeking an experienced line cook to join our team in New Haven!
The line cook prepares food to the chef’s exact specifications and in a timely fashion while upholding standards for health, sanitation, safety, and quality. Assists the chef in daily tasks of managing the kitchen as necessary.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Sets up and stocks stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepares food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, preparing sauces)
• Works all line stations including Fryer, Grill and Sauté
• Maintains cleanliness and Health Code Standards
• Stocks and organizes deliveries
• Ensures that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Performs occasional dishwashing depending on shift and staffing


Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience as a line cook in a full service kitchen
• Understands common cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
